Answer

In a quote attributed to Albert Einstein, the importance of bees to the production of human food is asserted: "If the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe, then man would only have four years of life left." While the source of this quote cannot be substantiated ( http://www.thedailygreen.com/environmental-news/latest/einstein-bees ),  nevertheless, bees and other pollinators are an essential element in the production of our food supply.
